On May 8, vView had the pleasure of visiting Lusíada University of Porto, at the invitation of Professor Jorge Amaral, as part of the Construction Systems course for third-year Architecture students at the Faculty of Architecture and Arts.

The session, led by our architect Rúben Cardoso, focused on the topic “Detailing and Technical Development: Key Elements in Communicating a Project to the Construction Site“. The aim was to share professional insights and technical approaches that are essential for transforming architectural concepts into buildable solutions.

One week later, on May 15, we invited the same group of students to a site visit at our Matas project, in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they could observe real-world applications of vView systems — specifically the WS100 and WW77.HV models. This on-site experience allowed students to connect theoretical learning with practical implementation.

During the visit, we emphasized the diversity of vView’s façade and frame systems, their structural components, and technical detailing. The session encouraged students to adopt a more rigorous and hands-on approach when developing architectural projects intended for construction — a skillset that is increasingly critical in today’s professional environment.

This open-class initiative proved to be mutually enriching, offering clear value to both the students and vView:

  • For students: It bridged the gap between academic theory and real-world practice, enhancing their technical literacy, spatial awareness, and readiness for professional challenges.
  • For academia: It fostered a dynamic learning environment through direct industry collaboration, aligning educational content with market demands and construction realities.
  • For vView: It reinforced our commitment to education, innovation, and the active development of the next generation of architects, while opening space for dialogue, feedback, and future talent engagement.

This first open-class collaboration reflects our belief that knowledge sharing is essential to shaping better professionals — and better buildings. We look forward to continuing this kind of impactful partnership between industry and education.
